The Folkestone Townscape Heritage Initiative is funding the talk as part of a planned event for the Folkestone Triennial 2014.

Come along and listen to local historian, Alan Taylor, talk about the history of Folkestone Harbour, the local fishing industry and the cross channel service. Find out about how the fishing industry expanded from 70 fishermen in 1565, to 800 men by 1767. The talk will be held in the Folkestone Yacht and Motorboat club in North Street. You will be given a chilled refreshment on arrival and you will also have the opportunity to find out about the Triennial artworks that will be located around the Harbour area.

Please note that free parking is available in the Tram Road car park after 6pm and there are 5-8 steps to climb to access the venue.

This event is FREE but booking is advisable as there is a limit of 50 spaces.
