29 Rendezvous Street (Prince Albert Inn)

29 Rendezvous Street, the Prince Albert Hotel pre-dates the current Victorian building design. Photographic 1870’s evidence shows the building in its original form with Georgian sash windows and fish scale tile hanging. There is potential for a medieval timber framed building in-corporate within the structure.

The scope of the eligible works is to the lower frontage in the first application of the building. The upper frontage is expected in a second subsequent application. Works are to be carried out to lime plaster the ceiling through the side arch. The ceiling is currently breaking away. Repairs to be carried out to the side gate and re-decorate. Overhaul the timber pub windows and doors and re-decorate the shop front as a vital aesthetic part of the building. Fit matching timber boarding over the side block work and decorate. Clean and repair glazed and facia tiles to pub shop frontage and re-grout where necessary. Additional paint to lintel in arch and repairs of key stone brickwork in lobby.
